In Brief

The Model Y first deliveries commenced in March 2020, months ahead of schedule. The SUV and little brother to the Model X is still a very capable and roomy vehicle sharing many of its components with the highly successful Tesla Model 3. Trunk/boot space is huge and the Front Trunk (Frunk) is much bigger than the Model 3. In typical Tesla fashion the acceleration is impressive with the Performance model boasting a 0-100kph in 3.7 seconds. The appointment of the vehicle is very similar to the Model 3 with a few differences such as a heat pump intended to maximise winter performance by increased efficiency in the heating system and off-road mode which disengages the traction control for off-roading. This looks to be another winner for Tesla although it’s a little more expensive that the Model 3.
