In Brief

The Zoe was launched in Europe in December 2012 and despite not reaching it’s target sales, it has been a winner with its owners. In a followup survey with owners, Renault were pleased to learn that 98% of owners are satisfied with the car and 97% would recommend it. The independent testing authority NCAP billed it as “the best electric vehicle of 2013” and it holds a top NCAP safety rating of 5 stars. The new 2017 Zoe is basically the same as the original in shape and size although slightly heavier by 15kgs. The major difference is the battery pack. It is 41kWh as opposed to the original 22kWh and range has been more than doubled. Buyers can still opt for the 22kWh pack. The battery pack is the same size as the original but much more energy dense – in fact existing owners can replace their original pack with the new one. It is classed as a supermini. Renault also offer the Twizy, Fluence and the Kangoo van.
