The Quant supercar has been give the all clear for road testing in Germany.  Unlike most electric vehicles using lithium ion based battery packs, the Quant e-Sportslimousine uses flow cell technology which was first developed by NASA for the space program.  Redox flow cells are used in many applications to store electricity from the likes of wind generators and solar installations.  This is a first for using this type of technology (as far as we know) for a vehicle.  Click here to read more on the nanoFLOWCELL® technology.  This car is not yet in production and the road trials of the prototype will no doubt be used to make refinements as more information is gathered.  You’ll need a fat wad of cash to grab this one but once again this supercar demonstrates that electric vehicles will compete on all levels with their ICE counterparts but do so with more style and less harm to our planet.
